Troubleshooting

Export Is Blocked

DaCaPo blocks export when a selected Timeline contains an error that must be resolved before a valid DCP can be created.

This guide explains how to use the Timeline status and Issues tab to find the blocking problem and determine what must be corrected before exporting again.

What you’ll check

  • Whether the Timeline has warnings or errors.
  • Which problem is listed in the Issues tab.
  • Whether required metadata, markers, or media are missing.
  • Whether selected assets are compatible with the export.

What blocks export?

Warnings should be reviewed, but they do not necessarily prevent export.

Errors must be resolved before the affected Timeline can be exported.

Check the Timeline status

Timeline colors indicate whether the Timeline contains issues that require attention.

  • Orange Timeline – one or more warnings.
  • Red Timeline – one or more errors.

Timelines with errors cannot be exported until the errors are resolved.

Open the Issues tab

Open the Issues tab in the Inspector Panel to see the warnings and errors associated with the active Timeline.

Use the reported issue to identify what must be corrected before export.

Common causes

  • Missing or unavailable media.
  • Incompatible picture, audio, subtitle, or auxiliary assets.
  • Missing required composition metadata.
  • Missing required markers.
  • Problems with encrypted assets or decryption keys.

RDD 52 exports

SMPTE RDD 52 packages can require additional metadata and markers.

When the export Profile is set to SMPTE RDD52, DaCaPo checks for required FFOC and LFOC markers and can offer to create missing markers automatically.

Fix the issue and export again

Resolve the blocking errors, then review the Timeline status and Issues tab again.

Once no blocking errors remain, start the export again.
