Import common video formats and numbered image sequences, transcode them to JPEG2000, and create complete Original Version DCP packages directly in DaCaPo.
Organize productions into projects, packages, and DCP timelines. Keep OVs, VFs, subtitle versions, accessibility versions, trailers, and alternative deliveries together in one structured project.
Work with SMPTE, Interop, OV and VF workflows, Multi-CPL packages, RDD52 metadata, subtitles, auxiliary audio, Sign Language Video, encryption, and KDM delivery.
Watch a short introduction to DaCaPo and see how DCP authoring, subtitle editing, validation, and package management work in practice.
More tutorials and workflow videos are available on the DaCaPo YouTube channel .
Import video files (prores, mp4, etc.) or numbered DPX, TIFF, PNG, and JPEG image sequences. Choose the source colour space, gamma, DCP resolution, framing, profile, and JPEG2000 bitrate before transcoding.
Use Create OV to build a complete Original Version package, or Transcode Only to create replacement picture and audio MXF assets for use in an existing DCP.
Create new DCPs from existing timelines, export Original Versions or Version Files, and build Multi-CPL packages for multiple language, accessibility, or delivery variants.
Import XML, subtitle MXF, SRT and EBU STL subtitles, work with OCAP and CCAP tracks, edit subtitle text and timing, review issues, and prepare accessibility versions for cinema delivery.
DaCaPo also supports HI and VI-N audio, Dolby Atmos, and Sign Language Video workflows for SMPTE RDD52 packages.
Export the current timeline as H.264 with stereo audio and burned-in Open Captions. Timeline Preview is ideal for review, approval, and quality control without requiring DCP playback software.
Create accessible DCPs with Sign Language Video support. Import a Sign Language video, convert it to a DCP Sign Language MXF, place it on the timeline, and export a fully compliant SMPTE RDD 52 package.
Verify DCP folders or timelines before delivery. DaCaPo checks package structure, metadata, assets, subtitles, markers, hashes, encryption, and export compatibility.
Unlock encrypted DCPs with compatible keys, DKDMs, KDMs, or digest files. Create KDMs and DKDMs for cinema servers, projectors, or mastering systems.
Import video, image sequences, DCP MXF assets, WAV audio, Dolby Atmos, and Sign Language Video. Replace picture or audio, and configure HI, VI-N, Atmos, Sign Language, 5.1, 7.1, and RDD52 channel layouts.
Review warnings and errors directly in the timeline and Inspector. Use relaxed, recommended, or strict validation depending on the workflow.
Explore DaCaPo before purchasing with a free Demo license. The Demo includes many of the tools available in DaCaPo Pro, including encrypted DCP playback, timeline editing, subtitles, accessibility workflows, and DCP export.
Demo licenses are valid for one year and can be used on one computer. Playback, export duration, verification, and some delivery functions are limited in the Demo edition.
A practical feature comparison of dedicated DCP authoring software. The comparison focuses on workflow and built-in capabilities rather than subjective claims about quality, speed, or ease of use.

Feature information is based on publicly available product information as of September 2026 and may change as the applications are updated. "Partial" and "Limited" indicate that a related workflow is available but differs in scope or integration. Application count refers to the desktop applications typically used for DCP authoring, playback, verification, KDM generation, and related workflows.
DaVinci Resolve Studio can export Digital Cinema Packages and is an excellent choice for editing, colour grading, visual effects, and audio post-production. Many facilities already use Resolve to create an initial Original Version (OV) DCP.
DaCaPo complements that workflow by focusing on DCP authoring after the initial package has been created. Import an existing DCP into DaCaPo to create Version Files (VFs), manage multiple language and accessibility versions, edit subtitles, replace picture or audio assets, prepare Multi-CPL packages, verify packages, generate KDMs, and deliver cinema-ready masters.
Whether you create your first DCP in DaCaPo or in DaVinci Resolve, DaCaPo provides the tools to continue authoring and managing professional Digital Cinema Packages throughout the rest of the delivery workflow.
